What’s in your water?

Basic chemistry tells us that water is made up of two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen, but there are many other factors to consider when you’re talking about household water. For example, do you get your water from a well? Or does your family rely on municipally treated water from underground or from a reservoir, or a combination of both? The answers to these questions, and others, can greatly affect whether your water is good for drinking, bathing, cleaning, and all the other everyday tasks you do with water at home.

Why is water important?

The source of water has a lot to do with the impurities it may contain. For example, water from underground aquifers is more likely to be classified as “hard water” — meaning it contains high concentrations of dissolved minerals — than surface water sources, such as lakes. Hard water is safe to drink but can cause a variety of problems in your home, including limescale buildup that can damage pipes.
Also, lakes or reservoirs may be more likely to contain bacteria and sediment than groundwater.
No matter where your water comes from, it’s bound to contain impurities. Even if your water source comes from a municipal source that is treated to meet safe drinking water standards, your water may contain contaminants that make it unsuitable for domestic use. We know that some troublesome impurities in tap water cannot be removed even if we boil the water, generally including:

  • Residual chlorine and bleaching powder after disinfection.
  • Sulphur, which causes an offensive taste and odor.
  • Iron and manganese that can stain sinks and clothes.
  • Floating particles, scale and impurities.
  • Contaminants may include viruses and pathogenic bacteria such as Salmonella and E. coli as well as lead, mercury and more.

There are fine particles in the filtered water, what are they?

Fine particles may appear in the first 2 times of filtering water, which is normal. Because our products are transported, a small amount of toner may leak due to bumps and shakes on the way. Please put the filter element in the water and shake it vigorously back and forth 10-20 times, it can be easily removed, and it can be used normally after two times of filtration.

How long can the filter be used?

The replacement cycle of the filter element is related to your frequency of use. Calculated on a per-user basis, the filter should be replaced 85-100 times (the filtered water volume is 120L), and the normal use is 4-6 weeks. There is a reminder on the kettle, set it up before use, it can record and remind you to replace it, and it is more scientific to replace it every time!

What should I do if the water filter jug has not been used for a long time?

If the filter jug is not used for a period of time, it is recommended to pour out the water and leave the filter element in the jug; before re-use, take out the filter element and clean the jug thoroughly, just like replacing a new filter element cleaning.

Will the purified water be contaminated by the contaminants adsorbed on the cartridge?

If the filter jug is not used for a period of time, it is recommended to pour out the water and leave the filter element in the jug; before re-use, take out the filter element and clean the jug thoroughly, just like replacing a new filter element cleaning.

Can babies and pregnant women drink directly filtered water?

Yes, after filtering, heat it up and give it to your baby to effectively supplement minerals and magnesium ions.

Why is there scale buildup?

The top cover and the water injection port are often exposed to unfiltered water, which is caused by carbonate (scale) in the water. It is recommended that you use general household citric acid descaling cleaners to clean and remove the scale regularly.

Precautions:

Do not use the purified water in the kettle before all the raw water has been filtered in the kettle to prevent the raw water from being poured out.
Do not filter hot water above 38°C. If you accidentally pour hot water into the kettle, the kettle may have a temporary odor.
If there is a lot of turbidity in the tap water (such as after cleaning the water tank or when the tap water has not been used for a long time), do not filter it with a clean water bottle immediately, otherwise, the life of the filter element will be affected.
Please use the filtered water as soon as possible, so as not to affect the filtering effect for too long.
Pay attention to the water pressure of the tap water when using, it so as not to damage the water purifier.
